Q1. For what ages are LifeTime Rhymes suitable as a present?
LifeTime Rhymes are frequently bought for newborn babies as well as children.
We know that boys up to about 6 or 7 years’ old really love them. After that, their focus goes to other things such as football!
For girls, it’s a different story. We know of two girls of seventeen and eighteen, who have begged their mothers to buy them a LifeTime Rhyme. (They both obliged!) Other customers have placed orders for 18th and 21st presents.
Q2. For what occasions are LifeTime Rhymes suitable?
Lifetime Rhymes make special gifts for numerous occasions. Our customers buy them for: Births; Birthdays; Christenings and other religious ceremonies; Naming Ceremonies; Christmas; Easter*
(*One customer quipped “I’ve been looking for a gift that won’t cause tooth decay. This is the sweetest present containing no sugar that I’ve ever seen.”)
Q3. I usually buy each of the children something different. Do you think it’s okay to buy LifeTime Rhymes for children in the same family?
Yes, we do. And, judging by our orders, so do many of our customers. Although the gifts will be similar for each child, the personalisation makes each one special and individual even if you buy the same edition for each child. Some customers buy different editions because they might suit the different children better. Other customers buy the same edition. Don’t forget, you can always choose different frames. LifeTime Rhymes are ideal gifts for sets of twins and triplets etc.
Q4. Do customers buy Lifetime Rhymes for children living overseas?
Yes – most definitely.
Customers have said that LifeTime Rhymes are much more than ordinary gifts. And that the verses express what they would like to be able to write in a letter or on a card, but in a way which will be treasured and kept.
One customer, who bought one for each of her grandchildren, said “I can’t think of a better gift to express how much I am missing them. The LifeTime Rhymes will let them know what I feel and wish for them.” Among her purchases, this particular lady bought the Artist Edition for her grandson in Australia. “Oh!” she said, “It’s even got a kangaroo! He’ll love it!”
Our customers also comment on how easy the mounted-only versions are to pack and send. We know of many mounted-only versions purchased and sent by our customers to children such as grandchildren and godchildren who live abroad. (Some destinations we know about are Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.)
Q5. Can Memory Studio supply or send LifeTime Rhymes to addresses outside of the U.K.?
Currently, we do not supply or send LifeTime Rhymes overseas.
But, as we’ve explained in the answer to Q.4 above, many of our U.K. customers buy the mounted-only versions and post them to friends and relations living abroad. We know that these gifts from a far-away loved-one are really cherished. So why not plan early for that really special Christmas, birth, birthday, christening etc. And make sure you’re there in spirit if not in person!
Q6. Are there any plans for Memory Studio to supply or send LifeTime Rhymes to addresses outside of the U.K?
The good news is YES – we are planning to be able to do this in the near future. We are ironing-out the fine detail and will let you know on this web site as soon as possible.
Q7. Can you tell me about the framing and frames?
- Artwork is framed within a double mount. These double-mounts have a coloured inner border to set off the artwork.
- Frames have mitred joints and are constructed of softwood, finished to different colours.
- Because wood is a natural material, the grain will be individual to each frame and the finished colour may differ slightly.
- We offer them in either one or two sizes, according to the edition
- The frames are glazed with a clear styrene material which compliments the artwork in the same way as glass. Styrene has the advantage of being lighter and safer to handle than glass.
- As with any wall decoration, LifeTime Rhymes must be hung securely using the fixings included. Framed LifeTime Rhymes are not toys and, in common with all children’s wall decorations, must be hung out of children’s reach. An A4 laminated version is given free-of-charge with every order. This can be handled and read.
- The frames are hardboard-backed and sealed with tape to help keep the artwork dust-free.
Q8. Any hints for choosing a frame colour?
Our frames have been selected to set off the artwork, and to reflect today’s tastes.
In making their choices, our customers think about -
- The room decoration
- Other accessories the LifeTime Rhyme might be displayed near (e.g., other picture frames)
- Suiting the occasion, e.g., a birth or christening
- Personal taste – yours; the child’s; the child’s parents; guardians
In a sense, you can’t go wrong whichever frame you choose. They are all unfussy modern classics. They all set off the artwork beautifully.
So – you could just go with your gut feeling! You’re usually right, aren’t you!
Q9. How are the mounted-only versions presented?
All LifeTime Rhymes have double mounts. This provides a pleasing pink or blue border (depending on whether for a girl or boy) within a cream-coloured surround. On the back of the mounted-only versions, we add another backing layer.
Q10. It’s great that you give away A4 size laminated versions with each order. Why do you do that?
LifeTime Rhymes are not only a superb wall decoration, they can be enjoyed in many other ways such as reading and playing word games (see our section Having Fun with LifeTime Rhymes). While the framed and mounted LifeTime Rhymes are to be admired as part of the room decoration, the laminated versions can be handled and used for other sorts of fun activities with the child.
Q11. Do you offer gift-wrap and gift card?
Yes we do. We charge just £5.00 per item. We include a gift card for each item free-of-charge. We put the same message on the gift-card as you give us to go on the bottom of each LifeTime Rhyme. If you have indicated that no message is to go on the LifeTime Rhyme, we will just name you as the giver.
We vary the wrapping materials according to whether it’s for a boy or a girl, and the occasion if appropriate.

Q12. How much do you charge for postage/courier and packing?
We have kept the postage/carrier and packing costs as low as possible. For items ordered at the same time and going to the same delivery address, the following charges apply:
For framed versions - we charge £5.00 per order. So, no matter how many frames you order, we only charge you £5.00 as long as they are all going to the same address. If you order any mounted-only versions at the same time, we do not charge any extra, as long as the delivery address is the same as for the framed versions.
For mounted-only versions – we charge £2.00 per order for any number going to the same delivery address. (Except for mounted-only versions which go free of charge when ordered at the same time as framed items going to the same delivery address.)
Q13. Which carriers do you use to send the LifeTime Rhymes? What are the delivery arrangements?
Our main carrier is Royal Mail and they deliver within 3 to 5 working days. If you are not at home when they try to deliver, they will leave a card asking you to give a new delivery time or telling you where the parcel can be collected.
Note that there are some delivery areas (Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey and the Scilly Isles) about which we ask you to contact us before placing your order. This is because we will need to check the delivery charge which may vary from our normal rates.
Q14. Can I have my LifeTime Rhyme gift sent to another address which is not mine?
Yes you certainly can. We want to help take the strain out of shopping as much as possible. You’ve taken care to select the perfect gift and written your special message. Now let us share some of the work.
Q15. How long does it take to receive an order?
Because each order is carefully personalised and hand-finished, we ask you to allow 21 days for delivery (from the time we receive your order). However, we usually despatch within a few days (but please allow five working days to clear cheques if you pay by this method).
We will always do our very best to meet urgent orders. We know what it’s like trying to find that last-minute gift. So – just ask and we will let you know if we can meet your requirements. In the vast majority of cases we are able to help.

Q16. What is your returns policy?
A. Every LifeTime Rhyme is carefully quality-checked before it is sent and we are sure that you will be delighted with your order. As our products are personalised, orders cannot be cancelled after payment has been received by us. And, once supplied, we can only exchange or refund in the unlikely event that the quality is not up to standard. Please notify us within 7 days if you have any complaint. We will discuss with you the return of the products and arrange for a replacement or full refund of all monies paid. (This does not affect your statutory rights.)
